Happy Spring everyone! Is it just me or are the weeks FLYING by??
Ever since I started this company my life has been in full speed ahead, always planning, booking, and organizing the next week, month and year. I realized I need to get grounded, meditate and center myself each day to make sure I am on track with my vision, my goals and my dream.
I highly recommend everyone do this, even if it's just a quick meditation on Sunday afternoon, to make sure you know what you are working towards, and look inwards. Your higher self knows what you need now, what you need to focus on and how to get to where you want to go, without goals we are just hamsters on a wheel.
Most months I work on 3-4 projects and it keeps getting busier, every day I am grateful that my husband pushed me to start Design Dreams, I left my 9-5 and went full steam ahead into this design business.
It was honestly the best decision I could have ever made, if you are worried about starting your own company I get it, but if you have any questions, concerns, or worries I would love to chat and answer any questions you may have!

Lately, I have been working on tons of Airbnbs which has been a blast, I am learning every day, getting faster and more diligent in how I do things.
I plan to start designing these Airbnbs with themes, and no I don’t mean like Nautical Ships all over the place or pink on every surface. I mean I want to do a Modern Farmhouse rental with beautiful vintage farmhouse signs and black decor, maybe a faux cowhide spread across the bed.
I want all of my Airbnbs to have a different FEELING, that’s what good design does, it makes you FEEL something. Here’s a couple more ideas I have…

Parisian
Nordic (cozy)
Antique style
Mixed Velvets (deep colours)
Tuscan inspired
Japanese (minimal)
SO in other words, there are LOTS of varying designs in the works, I am actually heading to Mexico in 10 days and I cannot wait to gather the inspiration I need for this summer. The colours, fabrics, textures, layers, broken down buildings, tiles and the gorgeous clay. I will be taking lots of photos of the buildings, murals, people, animals and of course the land and seascapes.
This summer I will be working alongside multiple short-term rental companies, helping my realtor decorate homes and work with an incredible flower shop here in Calgary, decorating and helping set up events.
You wouldn’t believe what last year looked like for me, I reached out to HUNDREDS of companies, designers, stagers, realtors, decor stores, furniture stores, builders, you name it! Countless emails were unread, unresponded or something got in the way. Now I am SO happy that I pushed through, I did not give up. That's the biggest thing with your dreams, no matter how long it takes, DON'T GIVE UP.
Now I am here, living my dream life - I have companies who send me warm leads every week, and I get to work with florals and plants to decorate events. I even get total freedom of Design, usually, they say “We don’t care how it looks, we trust you.” and I go, I do my thing and I put spaces together from ground zero to completion.
Moral of the story, your dream is not too big, no matter what it is you can make it and I have no doubt about that, keep pushing and always know one day it will arrive and you will fall in love with your life every. single. day.
