I just returned from a quick trip to Mexico to visit my parents and may I say, it was absolutely GOREGOUS. I’m talking step into a dream gorgeous.
I will add lots of photos to today's blog post so you guys can get an idea of what I was lucky enough to experience.
The design, architecture, colours, textures, brick, cobblestone streets, and handmade weaved throws dancing in the wind. Countless Latin songs all playing around the town square at once, being there during Easter weekend there was a certain feeling in the air, I felt transported to a simpler time. Kids were playing in the street, taco and fruit juice stands as far as the eye could see.
I got some much-needed inspiration for my designs that are up and coming. I am so excited to explore playing with bolder colours, textures and layers that really speak to one another. Seeing the ocean through the palm trees was a gorgeous juxtaposition, this vacation blew me away. I am so lucky that my parents aren’t the “resort” type of people, they love to explore all ends of the earth and walk off the beaten path.
You truly never know where you are going to end up when you are travelling with parents like mine, especially my mother. She is a gypsy at heart and always wanted to be a free bird. I don’t know if my dad knew what he was getting into when he married her, but we have been travelling my whole life, the first time I flew was when I was 6 months old from Germany all the way to Western Canada.
Since then, we have been all around the globe, mostly the Americas and Europe, but I think that is because that is where we feel most at home. They definitely left the travel bug in me so who knows where we’ll end up!
Enjoy!
