THE BIG MOVE!

August 4th 2023

Wow, what a trip! My husband Ty and I recently moved to Calgary, Alberta and I mean recently, like last weekend. It was overwhelming for me, with lots of tears and stress along the way. Moving is no joke! Why’d you guys move?

Well, back in May I got an email from a lady who runs an amazing staging company here in Calgary, she told me she wanted to sub-contract my company and have me go stage homes for her since she was wanting to spend some more time with her kids and slow down a little. She also mentioned she knew the majoridy on the Interior Designers, the Staging Community and tons of Real Estate agents in town, whoever I wanted to meet, wherever I wanted to take my business, she said “Let me know and we will make it happen!” SIGN!

Every single person I told that we were moving to Calgary legit congratulated me, no one has ever done that before! The lady we found to rent out our home in BC for the next year worked at the same Bank Branch that my husband does, what are the chances right?! This meant the bank did it all for me, background check, credit check, Criminal record check, saved me a ton of time! I mean, another sign! On top of it all, we found a cute little place to rent in the South of Calgary, right beside thousands of acres of grassy fields. I don’t even feel like we live in a City here, we are in a cute little development called Rangeview with beautiful homes, I mean Pinterest-looking homes, love!

My husband also got into the Private Banking Sector with his company which means raises and a foot up in his career! We got really, really lucky so everything was working out great!

Since there are SO many more homes, people and Designers in this city, my business would take off, though I still wanted to work part-time with a Designer to learn as much as I possibly could, knowledge is everything in my book and experience goes hand in hand. So, a couple of days ago I sent a couple of emails to some designers in town and I let them know my background, experience and passion for Design. I got an email back the next day from an esteemed Designer. We chatted a couple of hours later and she said she would also love to subcontract my services as well! I am so excited about this new chapter to see what the future holds!

I am so happy we took the step, we got out of our comfort zones (which most people never leave) and made it happen. It’s honestly the only way to grow, if you stay in one place forever, you will never get where you want to go. I know it’s scary, it can be scary as hell. But if you don’t take the leap, someone else will, and they will take what you could have had. Don’t put off your dreams any longer. Take the leap and amazing things will happen!
